Little Miss Tender Conscience...

As most of you know, the differences between boys and girls is usually very apparent. We have found this to be true since the beginning-Hobbes was practically born holding a car, and Madeline came out knowing how to get what she wants all through a look. We have especially seen a contrast, however, in their reaction to discipline or getting caught. As I have mentioned before, Madeline is our little whirlwind of trouble. She is very quiet when she plays, and even though she is still crawling, she reminds me of Jack-Jack (note The Incredibles) in that she seemingly goes from room to room within seconds, and without being seen doing it. She can pull out every book and toy in their room within less than 5 minutes, and has made messes that I would have never even thought of. The difference is, though, that she honestly falls apart as soon as she is caught, or spoken sternly to. Hobbes knows not to do something, has been punished before for it, and chooses to do it anyway...mr. will of iron, shall we say?
The other day, the pantry was left open for a second, and I came in to find this. When she saw me,though, this face came out...and I had to take a picture before dealing with it.:)
Gotta love kids!

Happy Easter!

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend...I know we did! Here are the pics of the fun!
Good Friday:

Chillin' with Daddy on Good Friday. (don't they look a lot alike?)
Kiddos lovin' their Daddy.

The Easter Egg Dyeing.
The setup.
Hobbes only did about 2 eggs this year;partially because Mike, Bray and my Dad were watching Surf's Up, and partially because he kept drinking the dye.
Madeline, watching the movie with Ampa, and clapping her hands at funny parts.
The finished product.

Easter morning at Ama and Ampa's....
Easter basket from Ama.
The whole kiddo clan!(minus Seth and Nambi.:( )
Reading their new Easter book with Ama.

After church we went to the Fagan's and got to see Jill!
Hobbes found a wheelbarrow in the middle of the hunt, and decided to stop looking for eggs, and just push the wheelbarrow around the yard. (which was fine with us, as he had already had more than enough candy for the day!)

Trying to get 1 normal pic of the kids before changing them out of their clothes...here follow the somewhat chaotic and hilarious results!

This is the closest one! Can you tell Madeline was just a little hyper?

The Indoor Hunt:

To finish off the day, Bray and I set up a mini Easter egg hunt in our living room for the kids, after their naps. It was a good finish to a wonderful Easter! Love you all!
Madeline's basket.

Finding an egg!
Pausing in between to test out what was inside the egg.

Ooohhh! I know what's in these...Tired and happy.

Easter Fun

Finally-pics of the parents.;)

Every time I scan over our blog, I realize how few pictures there are of Bray and me. Not that this is a bad thing, the kiddos are much cuter, but we don't want our relatives to forget what we look like.;)
Last weekend, Bray sang with the Coeur d' Alene symphony, as a prize for winning a concerto competition in January. We left the kiddos with my parents, and got to got to P.F.Chang's for a quick, yet delicious, dinner, and then on to the concert. Bray did wonderfully, of course, and I enjoyed listening to him with a real orchestra behind him. ( sounds of the future, people!)
As we were about to leave, I realized I hadn't taken any pictures (horrible me! I always remember with the kids, but never with Bray's performances). So, I got a quick one with him and the conductor, and then we had some fun in a practice room. So here we are, in all our glory!

Late night visitor.

My dad came over tonight to drop something off, and so Hobbes got some good ol' fashioned grandpa time.

A tale of Madeline.

Madeline is a busy girl. On a typical day, she wakes up, and, if her brother is not up yet, she does her best to get him up, too.
Usually, Madeline likes to eat right away. Sometimes she gets so excited about the thought of food, that she bounces up and down, waving her arms and kicking her legs, nearly knocking over her chair.
Madeline loves food. Especially sweet food.
A guaranteed smile while eating.
After breakfast, Madeline likes to play. Sometimes she follows her brother around, trying to sneak a car, and other times, she does her own thing.

Like test out her new walker/scooter thing. She hasn't fully decided if she likes it yet, but the chances are pretty good.

Yup. She likes it.
If Mom's busy in the kitchen, Madeline explores new areas. Like the pots and pans cupboard.

It's pretty fun.
She discovered that the pans make loud noises, especially when thrown out on the floor.
When Mom starts to pay attention, she makes sure everything is back to normal.

On special days, Madeline gets to wear a pretty dress (from Gege), and go to a wedding or a party.
She loves all the attention, and makes sure to behave like a little lady.
She even pretends to be shy sometimes.

But then she gets excited, and goes crazy. The end.
