To continue with the Christmas festivities, we all made gingerbread houses yesterday as part of our annual traditions. (check that- Kathryn, Seth, Naphtali and I all made houses...Mike and Bray watched a movie, and Hobbes and Madeline put candy on a cracker, then ate the candy off the cracker.) Since we make our own gingerbread, they're a little harder to put together, so Naphtali came up with the brilliant idea of using a hot glue gun. I only used it for my roof, Kathryn didn't use it at all, (thus the sinking roof) but Seth...WOW. He took 3 hours-yes 3-to perfect his house. Although inedible, it turned out pretty well, but I still think mine won, since it only took 20 minutes, AND has sprinkles on it. If you ever wonder where Hobbes gets his OCD, one-track mind, just look at his Uncle Seth.:) It was a lot of fun, and I will post a pic of Seth and Naphtali's when I take one! For now, here are Kathryn and mine:
Mine is on the left, hers is the right. That is not antlers above the door-it's a 'W' out of chocolate chips. Like the little man?
Yes, Madeline thought she was very good at this prioject.
Hobbes, putting all the candy on before he ate a single piece.
And believe me, he ate it all!
