Much needed rest at Wallowa Lake

Wallowa Lake is about 2 and a half hours away from Moscow...it is a beautiful mountain lake, and we spent a wonderful few days there. Carolyn had to go back to school, so unfortunately she could not come. They have a cute little town as well, so we were able to shop, eat good food, boat, play mini golf(which I totally won:) go-kart, go hot-tubbing, play cards, and just spend time together. Hobbes loved throwing rocks in the river with Grandpa- he would try to pick up the biggest rock he could carry, and then hock it over his shoulder-suchhh a boy! He would've gone in the river if we had let him, too. Seth and Naphtali rode the Tramway up the 1 of the mountains, and then hiked until the snow drifts were too big! It was gorgeous and very relaxing.

The day of the wedding!!!

Although the day itself was gray and rainy, we had a wonderful time, and everything turned out beautifully. It was so fun to see all the family and friends, and I am very happy for Mike and Kathryn! The father-daughter dance...soo sweet!
An artsy shot of them running to their car-amidst the bubbles!
Cutting the cake- I was disappointed at how neat they were:)
A defining picture of the 3 sisters.
Soooo cute- Hobbes chasing the bubbles around Kathryn before the wedding.(he was supposed to ring a bell going down the aisle, but due to no nap we nixed that idea)
The happy couple right before the ceremony!
Great-Grandma Garfield with Madeline-yay for generations!
Carolyn and I with our Aunt Jill...so fun!
Ohhh-the bride!
I finally got to spend time with my sister-in-law, Naphtali-we had a great time!
More bubbles for Hobbes-they kept him entertained for a VERY long time-thanks Attie!
A shot of the fam while we were having the professional photos taken
Gerberas and bridesmaids.
My beautiful mom and me.
Fun colored shoes...the bridesmaids got a little crazy, can you tell?

Kathryn's Wedding!!!-Rehearsal dinner

Hello everyone!
Since things have been sooo insane, I decided to do a whole bunch of posts in a 'series.' Kathryn's wedding was this weekend, after which the rest of the fam took a trip to Wallowa Lake. Thus, I shall not write a lot, but put up pics of the events that happened. These are from the rehearsal dinner which was held at West of Paris- a delicious French restaurant in Moscow.

1 Month old!

Today is Madeline's 1 month birthday-can you believe it? To celebrate, Hobbes, Madeline and I ventured out in the cold rainy weather to do errands. All was going well, Hobbes was obeying, Madeline was sleeping, when while leaving the post office, a lady decided to back into our car. It was not bad, but anything small is always expensive-thankfully it was her fault, and so her insurance should cover it. But it made for a long morning, and added errands. Anyhow, besides that all is going well,we had a fun afternoon hanging with Uncle Jordan, and then had dinner at Ama and Ampa's.So, of course, since she was 1 month old today, she didn't want to be photogenic. She was smiling TONS today, and I tried several times to catch it on camera, but, alas....I only got the aftermath. So here is my best effort-they're funny but cute.:) Here she is half smiling at me.
I took Hobbes to get his first "real" haircut on Friday-he cried the whole time, but the girl was really fast and did a great job. He looks pretty spiffy if you ask me. We were about to go to a wedding so he was all decked out and looking like a big kid!
Here is Madeline's 'serious' face. She focuses in on your face and gives you the staredown. Every time she does it makes me wonder what she's thinking- she seems very observant.
And here's miss goofy face. Actually this was after a huge smile, but I got the funny-looking part.
This weekend is Kathryn and Mike's wedding, so the relatives start arriving on Friday-yay! I shall try to post if I can, but things are already hectic!Miss you!

80 degrees-woohoo!

Today was park day...this morning we went downtown with Aunt Kathryn and played at the park in Friendship Square. Hobbes has become fully independent at parks, and goes down the slides all by himself. He also tries to go up them, as you can see.
This afternoon we went to East City Park with Ama, and Hobbes went down the big kids slide 5 times! It was a gorgeous day, and we fully enjoyed it.
This outfit was from Kathryn's mother-in-law, and it is Soooo cute, I had to give a full body shot for Daddy.:)
Finally a picture with both kids! And Madeline was even awake!

She is no longer looking like a newborn...they change soo fast!

When Grandpa got home from work, Hobbes decided to watch the old tv show "Wild Wild West" with him-what a funny boy!
That was our day-hope you all had a great day, too!

Happy Mother's Day!!! (to all mothers, that is)

Happy Mother's Day!!! I hope you all had a great day...and that the moms got the recognition and rest they deserve.:) Don't worry, dads, Father's day is just around the corner. Just a quick update for you all-things have been picking up a little, I have been busier, I even worked a few hours at Bucer's on Saturday(gave my little sis a chance to find out what it's like to have kids) and wedding events are imminent. Today we went to lunch at the Church's where we had delicious steaks which Mr. Church grilled. It was a lovely day, and Hobbes had fun running around the yard and playing with George.
To celebrate Mother's Day, we put Madeline in 1 of my mom's old baby dresses and shoes from when SHE was a baby. She looked darling, as you can see in the pics below. (Hobbes was too busy playing to be in the picture). Bray is doing well, getting busier by the minute. He has gotten quite a lot of good feedback, and has been asked to try out for La Boheme for next year...he isn't sure if he will yet, but it's good to know they like him! Anyhow, hope you all had a great day and we miss you!One of Hobbes' favorite past times...driving cars on our windowsill at home, while watching cars go by on the highway.

Grandma with granddaughter-so sweet!
3 generations of women!
