As we roll into summer...

I just thought I'd give you all a quick update! It seems like I go longer and longer in between factual updates, and then I can't remember what I left off with! Ahh well, signs of age and mommyhood I suppose.
I will try to be brief, and stick to the facts:
Bray finished his first 'year' contract with Seattle Opera on April 16th. They asked him to return next year (beginning again in October) and so we decided to stay here till then. Due to limited finances, we did not enter a summer program, but thought we would try to both get 'normal' jobs, and work as much as possible. This proved much harder than we thought (due to the economy and our crazy schedules) and so it has been 4 weeks since we have had any work at all! We have been applying for everything under the sun, and as of a few days ago, we both finally got something!
I will be working at a Ross clothing store right down the street, and Bray will be venturing into the sales world, being a representative for Cutco knives! (so if you need any, let us know!)
Bray still has several vocal things going this summer, as well, so we will do our best to manage around them, and enjoy not moving for the first time since we have been married!!
Bray's vocal schedule is as follows:
May 15-18th, travel to Birmingham, AL for a vocal competition, get to stay with his Grandmother and see his Mom!
August 1-5th, travel to Chicago, IL to perform as a paid artist at the Ravinia Festival, working under James Conlon (major conductor)!
August 16th, perform at a dinner event in Spokane, WA, which I also get to attend-at a lovely home!
August 25th, compete in the Sun Valley Competition, here in Seattle (one of 6 finalists chosen!) and sing in front of several major directors.
August 29th-October 4th, travel to Santa Barbara to begin work on the premiere of Stephen Schwartz's first opera, Seance on A Wet Afternoon.
Needless to say, he has a lot of music to learn, and we still need to work out the details of the weeks in Santa Barbara (I will try to go down for a few of them!), so do pray that we can get all the kinks out of it! God has been good to us, and Bray reminds me daily to thank Him for our situation, no matter how crazy it gets!:) We love you all, and hope you will keep us in your prayers!
God bless,
-Kajsa

Hey there - Can you give me more info about that competition in B'ham?? The Bray Wilkins GA fan club could possibly send some representatives to cheer him on. It's a great excuse to travel and I would love to see Ms. Wendy as well as her mom!
I am thankful that everything is going well for y'all. Seems like your lives are a different adventure every day when it comes to his performances and such.
